How to ask for inbound links for a new site?
It is all known that inbound links are very important to search engine optimization.
But the actual situation is that if a site has already got many links, it will have more; if few, then less. That is to say, if your site has got many inbound links, it may achieve high PR and good ratings in search engines. Reasonably, your site and articles are much easier and easier to be found by other webmasters and they will automatically direct a link to your site.
While as to a newly established site, it is rather difficult to ask for the first several links. Hereunder are my advices for you:
Ask for links three months later right after the new site is launched:
It is not easy for a new site to achieve inbound links.
Usually I make my high PR sites link to the new one. When the new site has got a pretty good PR and most pages are cached by search engines, about three or four months later, I will ask for links from other sites. In this way, when other webmasters look through your site, they will not feel "dangerous".
In another effective way, which so far in China has not been popular but does work, you can choose to buy some qualified links from the professional SEO company.
Anyway, take it easy and proceed step by step when you are dealing with a new site.
Submit your site to category directories:
The aim of category directories is to embody other sites, so it is comparatively easy to gain links from them. You can spend some time searching a list.
The category directories include:
- Portal directory: large scale directories such as Yahoo, Hao123 and other open directories;
- Industry directory: such as Global Travel Directory;
- Governmental directory: such as www.tj.gov.cn;
- Private directory: many small scale or personal directories.
Note: Most of the directories will not accept a site that looks like nothing, so your site should have been well designed and look pretty good.
Blogging:
The big difference between a blog site and a common site is that blog sites are updating all the time and they will quote and republish others' frequently. If only your blog contents are featured, other bloggers will be sure to link to you.
Link to others first:
If you want to gain, you should give first. So if you want others to link to you, you should link to them first. However, it is not too bad for you to make outbound links as long as you are away from bad sites.
After you have directed an outbound link to a target site, click it so as to make the webmaster of the site detect your link. As you know, most of the webmasters are used to checking the logs, so they can find your site has linked to their sites.
I myself check my logs everyday, and I can find many links directed to my site. Naturally, I will take a look on these sites. If the sites have good contents, I will embody them and link back to them.
Make non-commercial sites first:
It does be difficult for a completely E-business site gain links from other sites. Supposed why I shall link to a watch selling site, unless I do favors to my friends.
Try to tide up industry knowledge, technique tips first, and then develop commercial sections at the same site.
Keep friendly relationship with other webmasters:
Communicate a lot with other sites in your same industry. It is not necessary the case that you always ask for links at the very beginning, you can share with them your industry news, experiences, techniques and so on. In this way, I guess you can achieve more than a single link |
